Mother Mary, Our Hope in Life

The months of May and October are dedicated to our Blessed Mother, when we as a community family come together to pray the Holy Rosary, firmly believing that our beloved Mother is the most powerful intercessor and will plead with her son on our behalf. Our Blessed Mother has never let anyone down and will always grant us the favours we seek, if it’s for our good.

And so to conclude the month of October in a prayerful manner, the Parish SCC Coordinators organized a virtual Rosary on October 31st for the Coordinators of the 35 communities of the Parish. The Coordinators were free to extend the invitation to their animators. The three communities of the Takshila complex viz; Holy Family, Helpers of Jesus and Akashdeep were requested to lead the Rosary.

A great deal of preparation went into this virtual Rosary celebration. A beautiful Power Point Presentation containing the hymns, prayers, responses and intentions, (a collective effort of all the three communities), was displayed on screen to help people follow and respond in the privacy of their homes. The coordinators of the three communities also involved the animators of the Takshila complex and assigned them roles in the Rosary recitation.

The Rosary commenced with the beautiful hymn "As I kneel before you" followed by the introduction carrying a powerful message of how life was before the pandemic and our present predicament, fervently pleading with the Holy Spirit to help us gaze on the face of Jesus with the eyes of our Beloved Mother.

This was followed by the opening prayer. Each decade of the Joyful Mysteries was prayed for various intentions viz; for the youth, for the Health Care Workers, for the safety of new born babies, for the eradication of the pandemic and many more. The Rosary concluded with a hymn and the Angel’s Prayer. The final blessing was by Fr. Innocent.

It was heartening to see so many participants on the call and most especially to have our entire clergy team with us. We were over 60 persons on the call.

We are thankful to the Parish SCC Coordinators for reposing faith in us and giving us the opportunity to lead all in prayer. We are grateful for all the support and encouragement we receive from the Parish Clergy Team. And last but not the least, a special thanks to all who put in their best to bring the Marian month of October to a befitting close.

Given the current scenario, we wish we could have many more such virtual prayer sessions, to remind us all that even in these trying times we are still one family bonded in prayer.
